How Does My Approach Help You?
On your first visit, I will do a thorough history of your current health concerns, as well as any past health problems and physical traumas.  This helps me understand how you got where you are.
(See How Did I Get This Pain?)

Then I will examine your posture and look at the range of motion in your joints.  This helps me understand where tight muscles, and improperly operating joints, are located.  Orthopedic and neurological tests give me more clues as to what is causing your symptoms.  Muscle strength testing allows me to identify which muscles are weak.  By palpating (touching) the muscles, I can feel the hard dense areas in the soft tissue, which you will usually feel as tender areas.  By palpating the joints in motion, I can determine where they are fixated or misaligned.  By using this method of communicating together, we will determine your particular muscle tension and weakness patterns, as well as any dysfunctional joints. (See “What About Posture”)

Every follow-up treatment is a comprehensive 40 minute application of various soft tissue release techniques, chiropractic adjustments (Manual, Activator,SOT Blocking, Kinesiology and Heat/Cold applications as appropriate), as well as instruction in specific movement therapies, stretches and strengthening exercises.

The various forms of hands-on soft tissue work I apply helps to release your tight muscle patterns, increasing blood flow, allowing healing nutrients to be distributed to the area, as well as the enhancement of necessary lymphatic drainage of released toxins and waste products.

The lymph system is the exhaust system of the body.  This system carries waste products from cellular metabolism back through the lymph nodes, which then processes some of the toxins, moving the balance of them back into the blood stream to the kidneys, where they filter out the balance for healthy body function.

Chiropractic adjustments free up, or de-compress, the joints allowing for normal movement which then alleviates nerve interference.  In my practice, I utilize both hands on, as well as light force instrument (Activator Method) chiropractic adjustments.  My unique combination of soft tissue release work, blended
with the appropriate adjustments, provides the most effective treatment for long term relief from acute and chronic pain.
